Event Details

Manhita Chamorro partnered with the University of Guam's Micronesian Studies program to present "I Am Chamorro" to students, faculty, and community members. This screening was part of the university's Indigenous Peoples' Month programming and drew over 150 attendees.

Following the film, a panel of historians, cultural practitioners, and community activists engaged in a lively discussion about the documentary's themes and their relevance to contemporary issues facing Chamorro people.

Students praised the film for providing historical context often missing from their coursework, and several faculty members expressed interest in incorporating the documentary into their curriculum..
